Have you recently been told that your dentist recommends an implant supported denture? When most people think of dental bridges, they imagine the traditional type that uses existing nearby teeth to support a replacement tooth. But at Magis Dental, we offer a stronger, longer-lasting solution — the implant bridge. This modern approach restores your smile with stability, comfort, and natural aesthetics without doing too much damage to your bank account.
An implant bridge replaces multiple missing teeth by anchoring the bridge to dental implants instead of natural teeth. These implants are securely placed in your jawbone, creating a durable foundation for your new teeth. In some cases, the dentist may need to place a bone graft prior to setting the implant; this will ensure that the bone is strong enough to anchor the post and crown.
For example, if a patient were missing three consecutive teeth, our dentists can place two implants on each of the outside teeth and then use them to support a three-tooth bridge — restoring both function and appearance. Implant bridges are also known for their strength and durabilty which help preserve the overall health of your bite.
For example let’s say a patient is currently missing three teeth. In some rare cases the dentist may recommend the patient recieve implants in all three locations due to the condition of the jaw bone. In most other cases another, more efficient option is the implant supported bridge by just two implants. This reduces cost and healing time while still providing excellent stability.
However, just like a traditional bridge, if one supporting implant fails, the entire bridge will need to be replaced. This is of course not at all a common occurence but it’s why our team carefully evaluates each case to determine the best long-term plan for you.
